A “healthy” health care economy requires putting people above profits. As Senator, Judy will focus on promoting high value and accessible health care where people matter more than profits, focusing on holding drug and insurance companies accountable for the health of the people they cover and reduce costs of treatment and prices for life sustaining drugs.
Not everyone has equal access to health care and in many areas the resources are scarce. Doctors, clinics, pharmacies, and hospitals can be hard to find or access in both cities and rural areas. As Senator, Judy will work to reduce the number and size of these “health care deserts,” making health care more accessible for Missourians. Judy is dedicated to developing better broadband access for telemedicine, providing better health care workforce training and distribution, and using Medicaid to allow Missourians to work and move and not worry about not having health care from their employer or employers.
Missouri and many other states have gone too far in their legislation related to women and their reproductive health. As Senator, Judy Baker will promote trusting women to make reproductive health decisions for themselves in consultation with their doctor, family, and their clergy. To continue on the path of reducing abortions and other health-crises, we must restore safe and legal access to reproductive health care for all women.
As Senator, Judy will work hard to preserve and/or return due process related to sexual harassment or assault of women to ensure victims are not blamed for the crimes of perpetrators. In particular, she will look to make sure the protections of Title IX are fair and follow due process without stifling reporting of sexual assault and harassment.
